Job Summary

Responsible for the execution of repair/maintenance works on site / on board by performing designated duties personally. Be independent after giving instruction for the execution of scope of works.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Carry out Workshop Technician responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Preparation of field service personal hand tools, consumables and materials and manuals. Follow given instruction by assigned Supervisor.
  • Preparation of personal hand tools.
  • Field/shop service execution under supervision
  • Work with portable/shop equipment on site, including valve seat grinder / cutter; honing equipment;
  • Reporting to Supervisor and work according to manufacturer specifications and MSHS ISO standards.
  • Assist during troubleshooting on Diesel Engines and Systems under guidance of assigned Supervisor, basic knowledge of auxiliary systems and components, including B&K filter, Separators, Compressors.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Basic knowledge of engine components and mechanical and hydraulic components; knowledge of auxiliary systems and components, including piping systems (water, fuel oil); and valves (water, fuel and oil)
  • Capable to work with portable equipment on site, including digital camera, etc. to provide condition reports. Capable to work with valve seat grinder / cutter; surface grinder; honing equipment, test equipment such as hardness tester, magnaflux and die check
  • Knowledge of computer hardware and software, including Gage InSite, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Explorer, Internet usage and connection.
  • Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, and safety procedures.
  • Be able to execute works in metric dimensions.
  • Knowledge of computer hardware and software required for work performance, including MS Word, Internet usage and connection.
  • Able to respect co-workers; maintain team work; keep all time communication in the team; follow instructions of Supervisor.
  • Reliable, responsible, and dependable, and fulfilling obligations.
  • Good communication skills in speaking
  • A willingness to take on responsibilities and challenges.


Education and Experience Requirements

  • Require a recognized mechanical certificate from a trade school or military training institution or an Associate Degree from a recognized institute in area of specialty and 0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area.


Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • The ability to stand for long periods and be comfortable with kneeling, stooping and working in cramped and uncomfortable positions is required.
  • Should be prepared to twist and turn the body often and must be open to working outdoors in various weather conditions.


Fit for Duty

All field and shop employees will require a pre-employment ENG1 Medical Examination (or equivalent). Field service employees will be required to pass the ENG1 Medical Evaluation (or equivalent).The ENG1 Medical assessment is a standard examination can take anywhere between 30 and 45 minutes and will include the following:

  • Measurement of height and weight
  • A standard eye test and color blindness test
  • A hearing test
  • Ear and throat evaluations
  • Inspection of teeth and gums
  • Questions about medical history, including drinking and smoking habits
  • A urine sample to test kidney function and blood sugar levels
  • Reflex and hernia testing
  • Listening to heart and lungs, testing blood pressure and heart rate
