As a welder at Sidump'r, you will have the opportunity to lay out, fit, and fabricate metal components to assemble quality side dump trailers and/or feeding systems using knowledge of welding techniques, metallurgy, and engineering requirements.
Essential Duties May Include:
- Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions
- Tack-welds or welds components and assemblies, using electric, gas, arc, or other welding equipment
- Removes rough spots from work piece, using portable grinder, hand file, or scraper
- Maintain proper equipment; repair when needed
- Weld parts in flat, vertical, and/or overhead positions
- Interpret drawings and plans; carry out work accordingly
- Produce templates (jigs) and other work aids
- Lays out, positions, and secures parts and assemblies according to specifications, using the proper tools/equipment.
- Inspect grooves, angles, or gap allowances, using micrometer, caliper, and precision measuring equipment
- Follows the schedule established to meet drawing needs
- Understand the Global Software Program and provide ideas/solutions to concerns
- All other duties as assigned for operational effectiveness
Knowledge, Skills, Experience Needed:
To be successful in this position you will be a quick learner, safety minded, self-driven disciplined, and have a high standard of quality. Most importantly you will have genuine interest in working in a team environment and willingness and ability to learn and perform other jobs. The ideal candidate for this position must pass an in-house welding test, ability to read blue prints, effectively manage their time, and have excellent communication skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Able to lift 50 pounds occasionally
- Continually required to stand
- Frequently required to walk
- Frequently required to utilize hand and finger dexterity
- Occasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, or crawl
