Supervision of: Clinical and Medical aspects of the Outpatient Treatment Program, Therapist, Nursing, Certified Nursing Aide/Mental Health Technicians and Clerical staff.

Reports to: Wayne County Hospital CNO and CEO

Job Description: The Program Director (or organization’s equivalent) is responsible for the efficient and successful functioning of the program. These duties can be broken down into four major areas of responsibility: Clinical Management, Unit Management, Contract Management/Hospital Relations, and Utilization Management. The Program Director (or organization’s equivalent) provides for the implementation of the therapeutic program to meet Hospital Standards, directs and coordinates the activities of staff to ensure quality client care, supervises unit staff, incorporates financial accountability into unit activities, and demonstrates the highest level of professionalism.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

· Assures a therapeutic environment for clients, including client comfort, client rights and client/family education/participation in treatment

· Maintains clients’ daily schedule to provide consistency, stability, and appropriate activities.

· Assures client attendance at therapeutic activities

· Evaluates appropriateness and effectiveness of therapeutic activities

· Implements unit admission criteria, in conjunction with Medical Director/Provider

· Manages client’s Length of Stay (LOS) to meet multiple goals

· Implements Master Interdisciplinary Treatment Planning process and documentation according to unit and accreditation standards

· Coordinates, facilitates communication between/among staff and physicians as well as activities with other departments as indicated or requested

· Works collaboratively and cooperatively with Medical Director/Provider

· Conducts monthly staff meetings and informs staff of accreditation and regulations updates as needed

· Assures referral source follow-up

· Represents unit at public events

· Communicates effectively with individuals and with groups about unit, program and hospital

Requirements:

· Maintains a current state licensure and certification such as RN, LCSW and LPC preferred

· Graduate of an Accredited College/School of Nursing, Graduate School of Social Work

· Bachelor’s degree in Nursing , Behavioral Health or appropriate health related field required, Masters preferred

· CPR, CPI and First Aid Certification

· Excellent Communication Skills

· Microsoft knowledge/Computer proficiency

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.14 - $25.56 per hour
