Casper is looking for a VP of Media responsible for Media Leadership, Full Funnel Strategy, Investment, and Execution Excellence. Charged to lead a recently realigned function to better reach our consumer through media, by creating a cohesive strategy across ALL sales channels, and a distilled media process with room to experiment. We are looking for a seasoned media veteran with 12+ years of omni-media experience, preferably including time both in an agency, as well as in-house at a brand. The VP of Media is fundamental to the growth of the brand and instrumental at driving acceleration in both our DTC and Wholesale channels. This leader must blend brand marketing with direct & performance marketing principles to deliver enhanced campaign solutions and/or new recommendations to build the customer experience with a line-of-site toward quantifying and improving ROI.
When you're not catching zzz's, this is what you'll do
- Define the U.S. & Canada Media strategy while owning the media plans, execution and optimizations in conjunction with agency partners
- Bring expertise across a breadth of digital marketing and advertising channels
- Oversee management of all media channels including: TV, streaming/OTT, radio, podcasts, print, OOH, paid social, paid search, programmatic (display and video), affiliate, and paid & sponsored content
- Drive channel level performance to meet new customer and revenue targets within established ROAS expectations, and perform weekly/monthly/quarterly optimizations and analysis across channels
- Foster a culture of continuous optimization by developing and implementing a strong framework for fast, recurring and iterative testing
- Set KPIs/targets and lead team to achieve full funnel goals (revenue, awareness, consideration, relevancy, etc.)
- Ensure marketing plans are geared toward maximizing omni channel revenue (topline and bottom line) as well as contribute to retail and wholesale customer acquisition
- Responsible for media investment strategy and budget allocation strategy across a highly diversified media budget, both on an intra and inter month basis
- Ensure we are maximizing synergies between offline and online media and optimizing the holistic impact of media
- Partner closely with across Marketing Leadership Team to ensure media strategy is cohesive with audience strategy and creative
- Closely partner with Data & Analytics to drive and champion MMM and MTA models
- Strong oversight of agency partners, ensuring campaigns are executed flawlessly and performance reports extract insights that are meaningful and actionable
- Maintain relationships with key partners (Google, Facebook, etc.), ensuring Casper is always following best practices and is able to access important alpha/beta opportunities
- Monitor industry trends and shifts in the competitive landscape, and proactively work to keep the team on the bleeding edge of digital marketing sophistication
- Work in an agile and collaborative environment, managing both an internal team as well as agency partners who serve as a direct extension of the team
Team Leadership
- Build and develop a multi-dimensional media team capable of delivering best-in-class media strategies and tactics
- Provide leadership guidance to media organization and larger marketing team
- Support the development of full 360 planning and execution
- Lead, manage and mentor the media team from day-to-day communication and execution to long term professional career development
- Partner and collaborate closely with peers on marketing and senior leadership team to drive shared goals and successes
Our dream candidate is/has…
- 12-15+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree in Marketing or equivalent; MBA preferred.
- Direct experience managing large multi-million dollar budgets across a wide spectrum of digital media with a proven track record of driving strong ROI
- Familiarity with different attribution methodologies and measurement approaches (LTV, ROAS) as well as online-to-offline measurement with the ability to provide a strong POV on the optimal ways to measure digital media
- Exceptional strategic thinking capabilities, combined with the ability to execute at a tactical level maintaining a revenue-driving end goal and metrics oriented, analytical approach to all efforts
- Strong leadership, influencing, and collaboration skills with a proven ability to manage and lead both internal team and agency partners
- Deep understanding of how to build out full funnel strategies and connect with our different personas in relevant and meaningful ways
- Consistently prioritize innovation, actively staying on top of the quickly evolving digital landscape and ensuring Casper gets into alphas/betas that will drive impact
- A demonstrated understanding of traditional and non-traditional marketing and media with responsibility for driving traffic (physical and digital) to online retail and wholesale channel
- Must have working knowledge of traditional and new media platforms
- Working knowledge of direct-to-consumer channels such as performance influencers, tiktok, snapchat, pinterest, podcasts, direct mail, etc.
- Experience working with different business units and different goals, including ecommerce/direct to consumer, retail, wholesale, and blended/omni-channel
- Experience operating media budgets in a balanced omni-channel business
Targeted Annual Base Salary Range: $250,000-300,000 USD
Casper's compensation philosophy ensures that the actual base salary is based on factors including but not limited to skills, education, experience, special training, time in position, and/or years of service.
