VP, 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline Job at Vibrant Emotional Health
Position Title
VP, 988 SUICIDE AND CRISIS LIFELINE
Salary: 140K - 167K
Formerly the Mental Health Association of New York City (MHA-NYC), Vibrant Emotional Health’s groundbreaking solutions have delivered high quality services and support, when, where and how people need it for over 50 years. Through our state-of-the-art technology-enabled services, community wellness programs, and advocacy and education work, we are building a society in which emotional wellness can be a reality for everyone.
Vibrant operates 14 different crisis hotlines, including the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, the National Disaster Distress Helpline, and the NFL Life Line, and partners with the Veterans Administration to support the administration of the Veterans Crisis Line. Locally, Vibrant administers the largest metropolitan crisis contact center in the country, NYC Well, as well as New York State’s HOPEline for addictions. The organization is a national and local leader in developing and implementing innovative new approaches to providing behavioral health services and interventions via telephone, web chat, and SMS text message, and other technologies designed to support emotional health and wellness. Vibrant is currently undergoing an organizational shift in becoming an anti-racist organization – by learning and understanding our role in institutional racism, we are committed to centering equity, inclusion and racial justice so all can thrive.
As the administrator of National Suicide Prevention Lifeline since its inception in 2005, Vibrant recently won the grant to launch a three-digit code for the Lifeline, 988, which will replace the current phone number of 1-800-273-TALK (8255). Vibrant knows that a national three-digit phone number can improve access to vital crisis services, improve the efficacy of suicide prevention efforts, and reduce the stigma about mental health and getting help.
