PURPOSE:

Organize volunteer programs as they relate to the operation of Abuse Counseling and Treatment’s Programs including Thrift Store, Gallery, Development/fundraising events, Community Education, and other related activities. It is a responsibility of the Volunteer Engagement & Community Education Associate to help solicit volunteers, to train volunteers and ensure proper requirements are met, boost morale of volunteers, and provide incentives for good job performance and dedication.

The Volunteer Engagement & Community Education Associate will help with outreach activities in the community, facilitate educational presentations on ACT Services and ACT’s Needs to clubs, organizations, businesses, and the community at large, and provide administrative support to the Community Education team.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Organize volunteer programs and services, such as volunteer recruitment, screening, placement, evaluation, documentation, recognition, and retention of volunteers.

Represent Abuse Counseling & Treatment in outreach activities at community events and provide presentations to share ACT’s mission to the general public, including but not limited to clubs, organizations, faith centers, businesses, service groups, and schools.

Provides administrative support to the Community Education team.
Ensures all volunteers are in compliance with required trainings.
Ensures that training materials and protocols are kept current, especially internships.
Works with ACT programs and departments to evaluate volunteers in an ongoing manner, including providing accurate feedback regarding strengths and identifying areas where improvement may be needed.
Helps develop accurate and effective volunteer plans, schedules, and procedures for agency departments.
Maintains a current volunteer list and database entries, which includes demographic data, skills, and other pertinent information for donor relations.
Helps to maintain volunteer schedules and hours.
Arranges for recognition of volunteer support to ACT.
Market volunteer needs through media and other resources.
Publish quarterly volunteer newsletter and update ACT website.
Schedules and places volunteers for fundraising activities and events.

Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively and meet deadlines. Ability to maintain accountability and to work independently and creatively, while functioning as part of a cooperative and coordinated management team.
Must be responsible, dependable, well-organized, logical, and utilize a high level of integrity when representing the agency.

BA Degree or two years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
A valid Driver License and valid Auto Insurance are required.
