Summer 2023 Conference Shift Leader Job Description

Villanova University Office of Conference Services invites you to join us for the Summer 2023 as a Conference Shift Leader!

This is a vital role to the Conference Services and will interact with a range of campus service providers and off-campus contractors and suppliers in addition to over 10,000 guests who will experience hospitality, Villanova-style.
As a Shift Leader, you will work with operations and reservations to supervise and work beside the Conference Assistants and the Service Desk Assistants to prepare, set up and maintain housing and meeting accommodations for guests and provide reservation services. Tasks to include: formulation of daily work plan and its implementation covering meeting room set ups, guest room set ups, room inspections, registration and check out-staffing while managing a group of peer- aged staff.

Requirements:

Conference Shift Leaders must be able to work from May 15th until August 9, 2023. This is a 40 hour per week temporary summer position. A Shift leader will be assigned to one of two shifts, 8-5 or 12-9 each day including weekends. Candidates are required to participate in a rotating, On-Call night schedule. On-Call hours cover a consecutive 24-hour period and are in return for the housing and meal plan benefit. Shift Leaders must live on campus, in Conference Services housing, during their scheduled On-Call hours. Shift Leaders are expected to participate in training/orientation designed for the position.

Shift Leaders may be called to work outside of their already scheduled hours in response to guest emergencies or during peak occupancy periods of need.

• Have a valid driver’s license (USA only)
• Currently enrolled in Villanova University or other college or university.
• be able to carry/push/pull 35-50 pounds.
• be able to drive a box truck (no special license required), training provided.

Perks and Compensation:

· $16.00 an hour

· Summer single dorm room housing and meal plan are included.

All offers of employment are based upon successful completion of background screening checks.

Pay: $16.00 - $16.01 per hour
