Job Summary:
The Vice President of Information Technology will oversee the strategic planning, development, implementation, maintenance, and security of the company’s information systems and processes including computer, communication, and office systems. These systems may be located on premises or in cloud environments.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Recruits, interviews, hires and trains management and professional-level staff in the Information Technology department.
  • Oversees the schedules and responsibilities of management-level staff in the department.
  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
  • Serves as member of the Executive Leadership Team as a Subject Matter Expert and organizational leader.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Establishes the strategic direction of the company’s information systems (IS); executes this strategy in collaboration with company leadership and in alignment with overall organizational strategy.
  • Directs, coordinates, and participates in delivering professional services such as systems analysis and design, feasibility studies, and programming of information, communication, and office automation systems.
  • Identifies and recommends new technologies and services that will improve efficiency, processes, and operations; reviews requests for additional services and upgrades, assessing the costs and benefits to the organization.
  • Approves the purchase, rent, lease, license, or other acquisition of hardware, software, or technology services required to meet company needs and objectives.
  • Monitors and reports progress on development projects, resource utilization, and production performance to executive leadership.
  • Ensures the integrity and reliability of computerized information systems, communication systems, and office systems including the security of data acquired and stored.
  • Oversees the organization’s data security program.
  • Facilitates preparation of project plans and proposals, outlining project objectives, IS requirements, and analytical and programming staffing requirements for proposed systems.
  • Maintains pace with technological progress, economic change, and company needs by directing continual improvements of IT staff, equipment, and procedures.
  • Prepares, implements, and executes IT budget.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Serves as the named Privacy and Chief Information Security Officer.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Thorough understanding of Information Technology policies and procedures.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, or equivalent training and experience required.
  • Advanced degrees or certifications in technology or business preferred.
  • At least ten (10) years of experience in a technical role required.
  • Six (6) years of leadership experience required.
  • Recent certifications preferred including ITIL, CISSP, CISM or equivalent.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit continuously
  • Ability to reach above shoulder level
  • Ability to turn/twist upper body
  • Ability to use hand for repetitive action and fine manipulating for the purpose of keyboarding
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds
