Responsibilities:
Leads the management of accounting systems, financial reporting, financial analysis and payroll/accounts payable. Develops internal controls, standard operating procedures and financial processes, including increasing the efficiency of the Accounting Department. Produces monthly/quarterly/yearly financial statements in accordance with GAAP and communicates such to field, leadership, Board or other outside parties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Oversees the accounting team in the preparation of budgets, financial statements, financial reports, special analysis and ad-hoc reporting.
2. Leads and oversees the processing of expenditures and the maintenance of accounts and ledgers, ensuring compliance with appropriate regulations and policies, and ensuring maintenance of appropriate internal control safeguards.
3. Establishes, implements and presents standardized financial reporting that is communicated to various constituents including, Leadership, Board of Directors, and Operations Committees.
4. Oversees maintenance of the general ledger in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
5. Provides financial analysis, cost identification, allocation and revenue and expense analysis to leadership to assist in evaluating operational performance.
6. Oversees the supervision of accounts payable, and payroll personnel, which includes work allocation, training, and problem resolution; evaluates performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions; motivates employees to achieve peak productivity and performance.
7. Coordinates with Leadership to establish and implement short and long-range organizational goals, objectives, policies and operating procedures; monitors and evaluates operational effectiveness; effects changes required for improvement within the accounting, payroll and accounts payable functions.
8. Participates in the due diligence activities for proposed investment and JV opportunities.
9. Recruits, screens, selects, hires, trains, coaches, counsels and develops a team of qualified and highly motivated individuals.
10. Conserves resources by adhering to financial stewardship using prudent judgment related to expense(s) incurred by the Company.
11. Periodic travel including overnight stay as necessary.
12. Supports field, departmental goals, and the overall objectives of the Company.
13. Complies with all laws, regulations and standards of ethical conduct.
14. Responsible for uncompromising levels of cleanliness and safety.
15. Leads by Example (LBE), upholds and promotes the vision, mission and values of the Company.
16. Performs all job duties with a friendly positive and team-oriented approach.
17. Maintains professional/technical competencies and proficiencies for job responsibilities.

Qualifications:
- Four (4) year degree in accounting or finance or equivalent from an accredited college or university. Master's degree preferred.
Licenses/Certifications
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
Experience
- Ten (10) years financial/accounting experience. Healthcare, senior living industry or long-term care environment preferred.
- Five (5) years of management experience.
- Oracle experience is a plus.
- Exemplary computer skills that include knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite of products.
