Reporting to the Director, User Experience & Design, you will be ATP’s primary UX research practitioner, contributing to ATP’s software development lifecycle by executing generative and evaluative user research and analysis to inform and optimize. The insights you provide will directly influence user experiences across all ATP product lines.
What You’ll Accomplish - Your Performance Objectives – 3 to 12 Months
  • Understand ATP’s existing products and the markets we serve
  • Work with Product Managers and Designers to understand current work in progress and expected business outcomes
  • Establish a mixed-methods research framework, generative and evaluative, that can be used across product lines
  • Establish a participant recruiting framework[MP1] [AH2] and test-bench to more efficiently spin-up studies
  • Conduct at least one UX research best-practices workshop to share how UX research can best be utilized across product initiatives by fellow UX designers and Product Managers
  • Conduct at least six studies resulting in suggestions for improvements for our primary product lines
How You Will Accomplish This
  • Identify opportunities, plan studies, develop materials, and manage recruitment for user research activities
  • Conduct end-to-end studies using a mix of methodologies, qualitative and quantitative, to help us gain confidence in our understanding of user contexts and needs
  • Influence Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers to look for and ask the right questions rather than rushing to answers and solutions
  • Synthesize research data, create research readouts that tell the story of key personas, their contexts, and their behavior
  • Advocate your findings to diverse audiences through written reports and in-person presentations

  • UXR professional. You bring at least one year of hands-on experience. You know when, why, and how to apply qualitative and quantitative methods. You establish respect among Product teams for applying your knowledge of research best practices.
  • Detail-oriented. You organize and track multiple projects, keeping a sharp eye on requirements that often change in our dynamic environment. You are proficient in data management, data analysis, and insights generation.
  • Skilled communicator. You are both a great listener and concise in what you say and write, with an understanding that effective communication is key given the remote state of our employees and customers. You know how to tell the stories that bring product teams along on the research journey.
  • Effective. Your work translates to a measurable impact on product performance. You can describe how your work has and will influenced product roadmaps and design decisions.
  • Trusted advisor to colleagues. You quickly learn about our industry and our target personas and then make recommendations about how to best understand them to optimize our products.
  • Initiator. We lead by example in the Product organization. You will seek proactive solutions to problems or roadblocks and be able to pull people together toward our common goals.
