THE OPPORTUNITY Dillard’s is looking for an experienced UX designer to join our team located at our Corporate Office in Little Rock, Arkansas. In this role you will be solving complex user experience problems with a focus on making our applications intuitive while providing value with every view and click. Working closely with the team, management, and other stakeholders, you will deliver results through user research, wireframing, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs. To be a successful candidate, you must be able to provide a portfolio that shows off elegant and creative design solutions, a solid understanding of UX principles and concepts, and the ability to communicate those ideas with the team, management, and other stakeholders. You must also have the ability to communicate complex concepts and design decisions to all levels of audiences with a proven track record of producing engaging and thoughtful user interfaces and interactions. THE TEAM In this role, you will have the opportunity to be a part of an exciting new project on an amazing team! As our team prepares to rewrite a key application–Reservations (RSV), the UX Designer will play a critical role by ensuring the design aligns with the current look and feel of Dillard’s applications, meets the needs of users, and is coordinated with developers. The RSV application provides support to both our call center and our stores, and is utilized to place, look up, and make changes to online orders. This application also maintains the availability for all skus available on both the Dillard’s website and within the RSV application. Our team also determines where all online and RSV orders are shipped from. As a member of this team, you will be taking a user-first approach to designing the user interface of this application, which is used daily by hundreds of internal Dillard’s employees.
Minimum of 2 years user research or designer experience. Not afraid to ask questions, and comfortable presenting information to groups. An active listener, and good communicator who can build trust, establish rapport and paraphrase to show understanding. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively between users, the project owners, stakeholders and the team. Demonstrate strong web design and development principles and best-practices as well as have an eye for user interaction, design and code maintainability. Proficiency with Adobe XD, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Figma, and/or comparable software tools. Be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of and ability to implement core UX design principles. Knowledge of application development processes, particularly front-end development, to understand project scope and what is possible during design handoffs to developers. Experience with Angular is a plus. Experience with JavaScript, CSS, HTML is beneficial. Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future. Ability to work onsite at the Corporate Office in Little Rock, AR.
