Utility Technician Job at Befesa
Utility Technician:
This position will be responsible for supporting multiple job roles in the plant including but not limited to: The unloading of pressurized railcars, troubleshooting, housekeeping/maintaining work areas, Running/operating our feed systems, running, and operating our rail car loading area, participating in our safety program (ALARA audits, Hazard IDs, etc).
The shift schedule for this position consists of an eight-hour rotating swing shift.
28 DAY CYCLE (7 ON, 2 OFF, 7 ON, 2 OFF, 7 ON, 3 OFF)
Job Duties:
· Must consistently demonstrate good and clear communication on the two-way radio.
· Accountable for maintaining their work area as well as recognizing and responding to various process failures when they occur.
· Responsible for gathering samples through various points of the plant processes.
· Responsible for lifting and connecting pneumatic conveying equipment used in transporting materials and products.
· Maintaining housekeeping around conveying equipment and work areas.
· Frequent physical demands, working with others, lifting, shoveling, and sweeping.
· Daily inspection checks and cleaning of work area.
· Responsible for assisting movement and securing railcars.
· Complete required inspections and reporting using hard copy documents and electronic systems. Accountable for reporting completeness, accuracy, and timely submission.
· May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Job Requirements:
· High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
· Previous Experience in industrial environments is preferred.
· Ability to climb ladders and stairs multiple times per shift.
· Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push and/or pull, and frequently move up to 50 pounds.
· Personal protective equipment is required on a regular basis, including hard hats, safety glasses, steel-toed boots, respirators, protective clothing, gloves, and Safety Harness.
· Competent with the safe operation of hand tools, power tools, and equipment.
· Excellent time management, attention to detail, and communication skills (verbal and written).
· Must be willing to accept accountability and work well within a team.
· Must be able to work effectively under pressure and perform duties under stressful situations.
· Ability to understand and convey verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English.
· Basic math and mechanical skills.
· Experience with DOT, OSHA, and all related safety regulations preferred.
· Must maintain a clean and safe work area.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
