Uinta Academy is the nation’s leading multi-dimensional residential treatment center for adolescent girls. We specialize with girls who struggle with relationships or attachment issues and/or who have experienced trauma. Uinta’s clinically intense and sophisticated treatment program is balanced by a warm, nurturing, family-style living environment.Uinta Academy provides a research-based therapeutic milieu, accredited academic program, equine assisted psychotherapy, a robust integrated cultural arts program, recreational therapy, and a healthy lifestyles education. Uinta Academy is licensed by the Utah Department of Human Services and a member of the National Association of Therapeutic Schools and Programs.

Uinta Academy is located at the base of the beautiful Wellsville Mountains in Cache Valley. We are currently housed in five large homes where we replicate a comfortable home setting. This is not an adjudicated population but rather, adolescent girls who are experiencing difficulty in their lives and have increasingly begun engaging in high risk behaviors. Their treatment stay can be 12-24 months. Diagnoses include reactive attachment disorder, depression, mood disorders, substance abuse/addiction, oppositional defiant disorder and marginal eating disorders and personality disorder traits. Approximately 50 to 60% of our girls are adopted and experience the lingering effects and issues that accompany adoption.

Night staff at Uinta Academy ensure the safety, health, and well-being of the clients while they are sleeping.Applicants must be at least 19, pass a federal background check, and be reliable. Part and full time opportunities are available.
