The Turbine Aerodynamics team is responsible for the aerodynamic design of advanced, high-performance turbines. The team analyzes and develops the gas-path elements of the turbine module, including flow path geometry and airfoil design to meet efficiency, structural, & durability targets for high pressure turbines (HPT) and low-pressure turbines (LPT) for commercial and military engines. The team develops technologies that increase engine thermal efficiency and core performance. The team has deep technical skills in the use of proprietary computational fluid dynamics (CFD) codes, component testing in linear cascade and rotating rigs, and full-scale engine testing. Most of the team works on a hybrid schedule (both on-site and remote).
We are seeking a Turbine Aerodynamics Engineer II. The selected candidate will be a member of an integrated product team at the part and module levels, as well as key contributor to the systems integrated product team for the engine.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute aerodynamic analysis of the turbine module, working with a multidisciplinary team to support commercial and military engine programs.
- Manage small projects or processes. You will solve difficult, complex technical problems with oversight from manager.
- Create and develop flow path geometry and airfoil design to achieve module requirements (for example: performance, structural, and durability).
- Assess and validate cooling, purge, and leakage flows, as they relate to turbine performance and unsteady drivers to high cycle fatigue (HCF).
- Develop technologies and work balance strategies that achieve higher levels of engine thermal efficiency and core performance.
- Assess and validate overall module performance with rig data, engine data, and state of the art CFD methods.
Basic Qualifications:
- University Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Systems Engineering, or a related field and 2+ years of prior relevant experience, OR Advanced Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
- US Citizenship required due to government programs.
Preferred Qualifications:

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a consistent record of collaboration, innovation, and initiative.
- A passion for learning about and pursuing a career in aviation and aerospace.
- Creative problem-solving skills and adaptability in responding to new business challenges.
- Eager to learn new things, contribute a fresh perspective, and share your knowledge with others.
