POSITION OBJECTIVE
Every student is capable of achieving academic success, yet the public education system was not designed to meet students of color where they dream — instead they marginalize them and underestimate their abilities. TAF partners with school districts, educators, and organizations to challenge the current public education system. We address the entire public education system, from top-to-bottom, providing STEM skills and equitable, anti-racist education environments where all students can succeed and by working with emerging and established education leaders of color to improve representation at every level. We:
- Co-manage two public STEM schools where we provide industry-relevant and equitable curriculum and experiences
- Partner with existing public schools and coach students and staff using our successful STEMbyTAF learning model
- Empower early-career educators and established school leaders of color through educational equity and liberation pedagogy
The TAF Teacher-Scientist Partnership (TSP) Program Manager reports directly to the Executive Director of Education and works closely with TAF Education Team staff, as well as partner sites administration and staff. This position is responsible for developing course curriculum, building and developing volunteer opportunities, scheduling and structuring classes, and workshops for various TSP courses on campus and manage the TSP program coordinator. S/he will also source and manage industry volunteers, recruit students, and coordinate with teachers and administration.
The TAF TSP Program Manager will lead the efforts to expand the vision of the program. In addition, they will develop indicators of success and create evaluation metrics, create and implement programmatic goals, design and deliver professional development, and document the program’s implementation and growth. This person will drive the vision forward to expand the program to give all students the opportunity to enter an industry with a science connected pipeline.
The Executive Director of Education will evaluate the performance of the Teacher-Scientist Partnership (TSP) Senior Program Manager on an annual basis.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Overall
Create program overview, evaluation metrics and indicators of success
Prepare, modify, and file reports and documentation as necessary, including weekly summaries of activities and incidents, post-program overviews, recommendations for future services, and analysis of overall program effectiveness.
Source and manage course aligned volunteers throughout the year
Identify related TSP course opportunities, both during and after school
- Oversee the implementation of the TSP curriculum in multiple classes at various sites which will require active teaching
Expand and implement scaling strategy for new scientific pathways and Elementary Transformation Network partners
- Collaborate with teachers and administration to identify appropriate classes to engage with, evaluate program effectiveness and serve as point of contact between volunteer and staff
Manage and foster relationships between volunteers, teachers, administration, and staff
Identify students’ professional and college interests to improve student matches with TSP opportunities and classes
Community Relations, Communications, and Relationship Building
- Builds trusting relationships with teachers and school administration to enable discussion, reflection, and inquiry around the use of technology
- Willingness to coordinate and supervise off-site TSP experiences
- Fosters effective and reliable communication between school administration, TAF Staff, and the TSP Scientist and Designers to relay information and respond to emerging needs
- Collaborate and support other TAF teams as needed
- Works with community partners (SME’s) to effectively create, build and execute programs.
- Builds strong multi-sector partnerships with various organizations to deliver a vast array of program topics.
- Work with organizations to ensure volunteers represent and reflect the students in which they will be working with.
Hardware, Software and Network
- Communicate needed network and cloud infrastructure maintenance and growth to the Director or Technology
- Research and maintain current software and hardware needed to execute programs
Professional Development
- Coordinate School Based Professional Development for TSP Volunteers
- Create Annual plan for TSP Volunteers' Professional Development
Operations
- Develop, organize, and maintain documentation/database for participants and partners
- Support the program evaluation process with TAF’s data analyst to evaluate impact and effectiveness of programming (e.g., data collection, analysis, and reporting)
- Complete required program paperwork (e.g., quarterly, mid-year and annual project reports)
- Management of project elements, including, but not limited to, schedule, cost, resources, and risks:
- Program Charter
- Curriculum and Syllabus
- Risks and issues
- Financial implications
- Cost benefit analysis
- Organizational value
- Complete and update annual work plan dashboard
Financial Management
- Monitor and review the TSP annual budget
- Communicate proposed budget priorities and needs to Executive Director of Education
- Work with the fundraising team to secure additional funds when programmatic needs arise.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Demonstrated use of project management skills and ability to take full ownership of programs and projects, including program strategy and work plans
- Experience related to adult learning (e.g., professional development, mentoring, teaching)
- Possess organization and time management systems for self and stakeholders
- Experience with curriculum development and a variety of effective instructional strategies
- Knowledge of school and district organization and policy
- Familiarity working in diverse, multi-cultural and bilingual environments
- Possess strong Interpersonal skills; having the ability to build positive relationships
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to present to diverse audiences, specifically racially, ethnically, and socioeconomically diverse communities
- Proven research skills

Education, Experience, and Competencies.
- Bachelor’s degree, certification or at least 3 years' experience as a program manager
- 3-5 years teaching experience
- Classroom experience and/or relevant experience in the field of education
- General knowledge of technology and programming languages
- Budget management experience
Preferred
Fluency in languages other than English is a plus
Moderate to high proficiency in Microsoft Suite

Salary Range: $65,000-75,000
