Truck Technician Job at Wastequip
Our team is currently looking for a Mobile/Truck Technician to keep up with our level of demand. In this role the successful candidate will work on Streetsweepers, Vacs and Refuse trucks. In most cases the trucks will be providing warranty support, and repair to independent haulers who need work done on the trucks on site. This means you could be traveling daily, however overnights are extremely unlikely.
Summary of essential job functions
- Maintains vehicle functional condition by listening to operator complaints; conducting inspections; repairing mechanical and electrical systems malfunctions; replacing parts and components
- Complies with state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards.
- Maintains vehicle appearance by cleaning, washing, and painting.
- Maintains vehicle records by recording service and repairs.
- Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
- Contains costs by using warranty; evaluating service and parts options.
- Increase job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
- Ability to lift 50lbs plus, bend, stoop, kneel and climb ladders.
- Above all, must be able to work closely with co-workers or other team members.

Minimum requirements
- 1 year of Truck or Heavy Equipment mechanic experience is required.
- 1 Year Fabrication Experience is preferred.
- 1 Year Welding experience preferred.
- 1 year of 12/24 volt electrical experience is required.
- ASE certification is preferred.
- Must have the ability to understand hydraulic and electrical schematics.
- Waste collection equipment knowledge will be a large plus for this position.
Required license or certification:
- Must have a valid Class B CDL and DOT medical card or willingness to obtain one within 90 days
