PRINCIPLE PURPOSE:

The daily function of this position is hauling bulk tankers and vacuum tankers from the pickup point to the delivery point. Employees in this position will perform a variety of routine and complex transportation work in driving and coordinating transportation plans in support of the petroleum and refinery operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBLILITES:

The semi-driver will function as a member of the H and H Oil Recovery Services operations team and report to the VP of H and H Oil Recovery Services. The team member will be required to drive tractor trailers and occasionally straight trucks, primarily. The team member must load and unload bulk liquids at designated locations and times.

Health, Safety, and Environmental

  • Must comply with the US Department of Transportation and the Federal Highway Administration Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and perform all duties in accordance with all company policies.
  • The driver must ensure that all bulk material is handled in accordance with environmental and regulatory compliance standards.
  • The Semi Driver will safely operate all trucks/equipment.

Operations

  • Perform a variety of duties, including hauling, loading, filtering, unloading, and sampling materials
  • Operate company trucks for delivery, pickup, and transportation of petroleum products and materials
  • Filter product on and off the trucks as required
  • Accurately complete all required paperwork, including manifests, bills of lading, and log books
  • Turn in all DOT and shipping papers promptly
  • Maintain proper customer relations.

Training

  • The semi-driver must participate in all relevant training and comply with regulatory requirements, company policies, and industry standards as directed.

Maintenance

  • Conduct pre and post-trip inspections on all equipment during work and submit completed reports daily.

Miscellaneous

  • All other duties assigned by the supervisor

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Must have a High School Diploma
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of tractor trailer driving experience

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

The qualified individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skill, and ability required. Reasonable accommodations may enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

  • Excellent knowledge of DOT rules and regulations.
  • Must have CDL class A driver’s license with air brake, Hazmat, and tank endorsement.
  • Must be able to perform basic troubleshooting, work independently, and follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Candidate must utilize proper driving procedures, including operating a manual transmission, using the air brake system, and using a power take-off system.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOT physical card.
