Transportation/Transit Planner (Manager) Job at Sain Associates

We are looking for a Transportation Planner who wants to join our mission to help communities make the best decisions for their future.
As a manager in our planning practice, you would create transportation and transit planning solutions for cities, counties, and state agencies.
On a typical day, you might be speaking with clients about a comprehensive plan, writing a regional plan document, and planning new transportation routes for vehicular or non-motorized travel. In this role, you would also be working with Travel Demand Forecasting, specialized planning studies, and policy research.
Must Haves
- 5+ years of experience in planning
- Bachelor's or master’s degree in Geography, Planning, Urban Design, Civil Engineering, or related field from an accredited program
- Excellent research and writing skills
- Experience with demographic analysis
- Ability to communicate highly technical work in a way that clients can understand
- Desire to research and learn about federal, state, and local laws and policies that impact transportation
- Ability to mentor staff members in planning processes
- Understanding of how grants fund planning projects
- Possess excellent written and oral communication skills with English proficiency
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook
- Ability to travel as needed
Nice-to-have
- Management experience is preferred
- Working knowledge of ArcGIS
- Willingness to learn Cube or a comparable forecasting software
- Experience creating infographics to effectively communicate planning concepts and support document preparation
