Transportation Supervisor

Summary:

The Transportation Supervisor (TS) plays a key role in day-to-day operations of allocated drivers and Maximus Logistics customer assignment. The TS plans their team to best serve the customer’s needs in a safe and efficient manner while striving for continuous process improvement to ensure allocated resources are being utilized to their fullest. Creativity, critical thinking, and situational awareness are key attributes to success as a TS. Position is a direct report to the Transportation Operations Manager.

Responsibilities:

• Assign and monitor movements of assigned associates and assets. Communicate with associates of changes, potential hazards, and pass information on to customer.

• Track shipments from beginning to end, ensuring customer service parameters are being met.

• Enter data associated with assigned associates into Maximus Logistics tracking systems to ensure customers and driver settlements are accurately submitted in a timely fashion.

• Communicate with customer on daily basis to ensure needs are being satisfied at a high level. Take advantage of opportunities of potential growth within Maximus Logistics’ influential responsibilities.

• Main contact for assigned associates, critically assess situation and offer solutions congruent within company policies.

• Monitor associate’s daily logs and hours of service under DOT regulations. Report and document such discrepancies.

• Learn and promote safety minded culture provided by Maximus Logistics Safety department. Continuous training provided.

• Deeply involved in assigned associate onboarding/continuous training program, ensuring product execution levels remain high.

• Maintain, monitor, and assess KPIs in order to uphold and improve asset utilization.

Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree at accredited learning organization or similar experience in transportation industry.

• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and maintain a high level of attention to detail a plus.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills. Main avenue of communications is email and telephone.

• Strong computer skills. Moderate knowledge of Microsoft Suite and similar programs a must.

• Knowledge of DOT regulations highly recommended.
