Teller/Customer Service Representative Job at Yellowstone Bank
Yellowstone Bank is looking for a Customer Service Representative/Teller in our Bozeman location. This position will have the following responsibilities:
Basic Qualifications
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Must be able to work independently and to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Professional attire is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
Customer Service:
- Presents bank products by answering inquiries; informing customers of new services and product promotions; ascertaining customers' needs; directing customers to the appropriate branch representative.
- Provides account services to customers by receiving deposits and loan payments; cashing checks; issuing savings withdrawals; recording night and mail deposits; selling cashier's checks, answering questions in person or on telephone; referring to other bank services.
- Reconciles cash drawer by proving cash transactions; counting and packaging currency and coins; reconciling loan coupons and other transactions; turning in excess cash and mutilated currency to head teller; maintaining supply of cash and currency.
- Completes special requests by closing accounts; taking orders for checks; opening and closing special accounts including, but not limited to Checking and Savings Accounts, Certificates of Deposit, Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs), and Health Savings Accounts. Providing special statements, copies, and referrals; completing safe-deposit box procedures.
- Complies with bank operations and security procedures by participating in all dual-control functions.
- Maintains customer confidence and protects bank operations by keeping information confidential.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Skills/Qualifications: Customer Service, Attention to Detail, General Math Skills, Verbal Communication, Integrity, Selling to Customer Needs, People Skills, Financial Skills, Documentation Skills.
- Complies with bank operations and security procedures by participating in all dual-control functions; auditing other tellers' currency; assisting in certification of proof.
Miscellaneous Duties:
- Secretarial Support.
- Greet and assist customers.
- Answer phones, takes messages and assist with general account information.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Public Relations:
- Promote the improvement of Yellowstone Bank through quality customer service, promotion of products, professionalism in conduct and diligent work ethic.
- Greet all customers pleasantly and make them feel welcome and comfortable.
- Handle transaction quickly and professionally.
- Effectively handle customer questions and problems.
- Use effective listening and observing skills to help identify and resolves customer needs.
- Relay customer comments and or complaints to the Bank President.
Federal Regulations:
Maintain a working knowledge of Bank's written policies and procedures that apply to and concern this position’s area of responsibility, including general regulations such as the Bank Secrecy Act, Bank Security and various other Federal and State regulations as they apply.
Communication
Expresses information/thoughts clearly and concisely in both written and verbal form. Keeps communication channels open with subordinates and supervisors. Responds promptly to calls or inquiries in a courteous and professional manner. Communication is effective and efficient.
