Reporting to the Americas Technical Services Manager, the Technical Service Engineer will provide technical support and service to current and potential customers, in alignment with current business priorities. This includes introduction of new products for both existing business and growth opportunities. This role will also work with the R&D applications group to provide product/processing assessments on new products and product issues, based on customers processes.
The Technical Service Engineer role will support the TempRite business and work closely with the global team to:
- Provide technical support and training to the production facilities and internal and external customers in the areas of quality control, customer support and technical guidance regarding production processes.
- Support the development and introduction of new products, applications, and approvals. Support technical programs with business directives which enhance customer intimacy programs.
- Support sales and marketing and application development programs.
- Act as a technical resource across the business segment.
- Provide pragmatic solutions for customer issues or complaints through evaluation and guidance.
- Work directly with manufacturing to achieve targeted results and resolve issues.
- Support sales and marketing efforts to expand Lubrizol’s position within the industry.
- Provide technical data, reports, and communications regarding customer’s status or issues.
- Ensure effective communication across at all levels of the organization and between key stakeholder groups.
- Demonstrate a high level of safety awareness and adherence to safety processes.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Associate degree in the chemical, polymer or engineering fields (or similar), or 3 years of applicable experience
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex topics to varying stakeholders in a clear and concise manner
- Project management skills – ability to understand key deliverables and actions needed to accomplish results
- Willing to travel domestically and internationally as business need requires (up to 30% of the time)
- Fluency in English
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in the chemical, polymer or engineering fields (or similar)
- Experience in plastics processing industry (injection molding, pipe, profile, sheet, or foam extrusion experience preferred)
- Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese
- Knowledge of ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) standards and approval agencies
