Technical Buyer - Packaging and Capital Equipment Job at Fres-co System USA, Inc.
The Technical Buyer will be responsible for procuring electronic and mechanical parts, assemblies, equipment, goods and services to support Fres-co’s internal manufacturing and its Packaging Equipment Division.
Responsibilities:
- Review engineering drawings for new parts and subsystems
- Analyze and stratify quotations to maximize business objectives
- Identify and execute opportunities for cost reduction and supplier performance improvement
- Develop and issue Request for Quotations (RFQs)
- Plan and lead negotiations with suppliers (terms, conditions, progressive payment schedules)
- Create supplier scorecards and manage supplier quality
- Work with project managers and engineers in sourcing materials and services
- Lead cross-functional teams through supplier selection process, including the communication of requirements, schedules, deadlines, strategic objectives and risks
Qualifications:
- Associates degree in Business or Engineering preferred.
- At least 3 years of purchasing and sourcing experience of custom machined and/or fabricated parts
- Experience sourcing capital equipment is highly desired
- Ability to read blueprints and mechanical drawings
- Understand Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
- MPR Experience
- Proficient in MS Office
