For more than 30 years, SCCS has provided care, counseling, coaching, and essential mental health services for children, teen, young adults, and their families. As specialists in the field of mental health, SCCS employees possess diverse professional skills equipping us as a team to treat each client’s unique needs.

As a Therapeutic Behavior Specialist (TBS) Coach, you will be responsible for providing individual behavior modification services to TBS clients. You will work within the TBS philosophy to assist the client to modify behaviors that cause risk of harm to self or others and/or loss of home placement. Includes caregiver in-services in order to model and teach effective approaches to primary caregivers. Duties include:

• Providing services to clients within client homes, schools, and other community locations.
• Preparing and providing individualized behavior modification interventions and attending Child and Family Team Meetings.
• Engaging caregivers in the treatment process and demonstrating exceptional team communication and collaboration.
• Completing all required chart documentation within designated time frames.
• Maintaining productivity standards as set by Program Director and CEO.
• Working closely with the supervising TBS Clinician and following the direction given by the TBS Clinician regarding the management of cases.

Education/Experience:

• Education: Must meet one of the following options:

Option 1: Thirty semester (45 quarter) units of completed college coursework in behavioral or social science.Option 2:

Sixty semester (90 quarter) units of completed college coursework, which includes 15 semesters (23 quarter) units in behavioral science.

• Experience: Must meet one of the following options:

Option 1: One year of experience providing mental health services.Option 2:

Three years of experience in a behavioral health department, which involved direct client contact.

• Bilingual Spanish is strongly preferred.

Licensure, Registration, Certification:

• Valid CA driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance.
• Clearance of our background check process, which includes fingerprinting and a physical exam
• Completion of CPR/First Aid/ProACT certification within the first thirty (30) days of employment.
