Responsibilities
Technica is seeking a System Engineer to support CAOC-X in Hampton, VA. The Senior System Engineer for the CAOC-X program is a recognized industry authority with advanced technical insight in multiple fields and disciplines. The complexity of work is state of the art and the candidate consults various government and commercial organizations to implement intricate solutions. The lead engineer will support the Program Manager in planning and assigning tasks including assessing level of effort, reviewing requirements, and analyzing those requirements. The ideal candidate for the Senior System Engineer is a master collaborator with a deep understanding of the AOC WS. (Including, but not limited to): tests and evaluations, operational and technical assessments, engineering spirals, exercises and training, innovation activities, cyber events, demonstrations, and experiments at Langley AFB, VA.
- Performs as System Engineer, a variety of systems engineering tasks and activities concerned with system and event design, integration, and implementation
- Provides strategic planning for future equipment and capabilities
- Supports project manager for events and activities
- Develops event specific Engineering Plans/Annex K documents for formal tests as well as other customer events
- Capable of setting up, installing, loading, configuring, integrating and troubleshooting multiple systems and network components
- Works with others to achieve desired results in complex systems implementations and events
- Capable of leading requirements, design, and implementation efforts including leading teams of technical and subject matter experts
- Produces systems engineering documentation such as design documents or engineering plans and other deliverables
- Have in depth knowledge of Cisco UCS, Nexus switches, VMware, etc.
- Hands-on experience with two or more of the following: Host Based Security System (HBSS), Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), Microsoft SQL Server, Postgres, SharePoint, Exchange, VMware Sphere 6.0, RHEL, UNIX, and Citrix
- Understands the security and accreditation process for getting an Authority to Operate (ATO)/Authority to Connect (ATC)
- Domain knowledge of the administration, integration, and configuration of AOC WS systems & subsystems to include connected external systems
- Domain knowledge of airborne networking, such as Tactical Data Links (TDL)/Link 16, Objective Gateway, Inter-Flight Data Link (IFDL), Joint Tactical Information Display System (JTIDS), Situational Awareness Data Link, Multi-function
- Advanced Data Link and the integration of airborne networking communications systems, protocols, data sets and standards into initiatives and events
- Experience using integrated intelligence and C2 systems, for example Global Command and Controls System (GCCS), JADOCS, AGILE, or Theater Battle Management Core Systems (TBMCS)
- Integrate multiple systems and data flows across standardized interfaces and across multiple networks according to the engineering plan. Identify and resolve integration problems and issues within the limits of the standards and available external resources
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, or Computer Science or 5+ years of commensurate experience
- Active TS/SCI Clearance
- Minimum of 5 years of similar experience supporting/maintaining and managing various AOC systems and networks
- Certifications and specific skillsets: Windows OS, UNIX OS, ACAS, HBSS, Cisco IOS, CASP+, or CISSP or equivalent certification is required
Certifications
- IIAM Level 2 Certification required within 90 days from start.
