Vaughn Industries, LLC is looking for an individual to join our team as a Survey Construction Instrument Technician . This position will work out of our Lewis Center office in the VDC(Virtual Design & Construction) Department and will have daily travel to different job sites around Ohio.

Duties will include:

• Calibrate and operate a variety of specialized surveying equipment
• Properly operate the cable locator and GPR (Ground Penetrating Radar) equipment and identify subsurface conduits, pipes, and wire while maintaining accurate field notes & capturing GPS coordinates when needed
• Use building control points established by the Construction Manager to establish additional control points that will be needed throughout the duration of the project
• Willing to train in the theories, principles, and application of ground penetrating radar (GPR)
• Layout of hanger points, equipment pads, sleeves, embeds, and MEP equipment location as needed to maintain progress and productivity on all types of construction sites
• Identify setups required during 3D scan to obtain necessary detail and accuracy
• Collect points as needed for the VDC dept.
• Layout and install hanger inserts, box outs or sleeves and any other items needed

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid drivers license
• Basic math skills
• Utility Locator experience a plus!
• Experience using Trimble Total Station or other robotic GPS/GPR/laser instruments and software preferred
• Education in construction/engineering/geophysical/engineering technology or related technology background a plus but not required
