We are currently seeking candidates who are located near the following Oregon Tool facilities:

The Supplier Quality Engineer plans and leads activities concerning quality planning and quality assurance of manufacturing processes, design qualification, materials, sourced products and projects. Key responsibilities include applying engineering disciplines to support design, development, implementation and operation activities; evaluating and improving processes for product development, testing and production; assessing vendors and assisting in their development of components, assemblies, etc.
In addition, this role with lean in the implementation of the Quality Management System globally, define interactions, and promote adherence.
Job Responsibilities
Supply Chain Responsibilities:
Conduct onsite supplier assessments such as Quality Management System (QMS) and Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security (EHS&S)
Supports cross functional teams to develop and approve part qualifications/PPAP’s
Supports Engineering in developing test plans and procedures designed to qualify product to meet design, marketing and quality standards and targets
Participates in design reviews and team meetings; ensure adherence to quality discipline and rigor. Little oversight/assistance in driving supplier development and continuous improvement activities.
Work with suppliers to drive the reduction of Oregon Tool internal and external Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ)
Leads key suppliers to develop their technical capabilities and quality systems
Works with cross functional teams to monitor - audits, testing, and inspection data to ensure ongoing production meets requirements
Takes direction on evaluating and measurably improving quality processes
Supports supply chain with supplier scorecard/certification program and status
Quality System and Quality Tools
Lead the design and implementation of the Quality Management System globally
Designs and implement quality control methods throughout the organization
Consults on proper use of quality tools, including statistical process control, gauge capability, designed experiments, sampling, and reliability
Delivers and support the design of quality training material to a variety of audiences
Supports and lead Corrective Action efforts
Supports cross functional teams to introduce and qualify new products and processes
Leads internal quality audits, train internal auditors, and improve internal quality audit system and procedures
Investigates internal and external customer complaints
Assists with the investigation of quality issues
Determines effect of inputs and variables, including interactions, on process output.
Develops action plans in response to process variability and/or out of control conditions
Continuous Improvement
Takes direction on evaluating and measurably improving quality processes
Help establish and implement new standards, thought processes, strategies while leading special projects
Improve gauging system performance
Education
Bachelor degree in a related technical field required
Skills/Abilities
Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma background preferred
Quality Engineer certification preferred
ASQ certification preferred
Mechanical background in consumer products including work with zinc and aluminum die-casting, plastic injection molding, metal fabrication/stamping, finish evaluations (painting & plating)
Quality tools experience (PFMEA, Gauge R&R, SPC, process capability analysis, CAPA, etc.)
Experienced with ISO 9001 / TS-16949 Lead Auditor certification
Able to complete responsibilities in a timely, professional and quality manner
Solve problems analytically; search out relevant information and gauge its importance when making decisions
Effective written and oral communication skills; able to express oneself clearly and in technical and non-technical terms
Creative thinker
Collaborative and effective team player and able to work with teams who are globally dispersed
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) and data management software (SAP preferred)
Availability
Must be open for domestic and international travel several times per year, up to two weeks duration

The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Oregon Tool, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $76,700 - $110,000.
