General Summary

This position is responsible for the construction and analysis of various data related to the Supply Chain organization, directly impacting cost, efficiency, and responsibilities. In addition, this position is directly responsible for control of various Supply Chain processes including production control points, product returns handling, scrap, supply chain security, and general supply chain support.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Analyzes key cost factors related to logistics. Prepares metrics for SCM and Logistics. Compiles any required data for SCM analysis.
  • Maintenance and support of dashboards and tools related to SCM data management and reporting.
  • Supports Transportation Coordinators with control of inbound freight, including shipment notification, communication with forwarders, as well as freight tracking and reporting.
  • Manages damaged freight process timely and accurately to include tracking damaged freight, claims processing, cause and impact investigation, and communication with all impacted parties.
  • Works with Sales Operations to provide required data to review/analyze slow-moving and excess inventory for possible utilization opportunities while minimizing scrap.
  • Supports Sales Operations with stock actions like inventory analysis, substitutions, factory returns, quarantines, and other possibilities.
  • Analyzes and reviews quarterly reserves related to inventory scrap/obsolescence. Processes scrap at least twice a year.
  • Analyzes, reviews, and maintains lead time data from factories and the Product Division to ensure accuracy of lead time data in our systems.

Miscellaneous Job Responsibilities

  • Reviews and analyzes the integrity of system data and makes recommendations where changes are required.
  • Performs other job-related responsibilities and duties as may be assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Three+ years of applicable work experience (e.g., supply chain, logistics, etc.).
  • Intermediate or advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent analytical skills, including creation and analysis of data pertaining to all areas of Murata’s supply chain.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong understanding of capacity principles and manufacturing constraints with respect to customer requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of demand methodologies; knowledge of the use of demand information for production planning and customer requirements.
  • Ability to demonstrate interpersonal skills including effective collaboration and communication skills; ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to effectively evaluate and respond appropriately to situations to the benefit of the customer and to Murata.
  • Must be adaptable and be able to consistently deal with changing conditions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Business.
  • Proficiency in other Microsoft Access and/or other query software.
