Description
General Description:
The Transmission summer intern will work with EDPR's Transmission and Interconnection Department for three months with a focus on utility-scale renewable projects.
This is a 10-week full-time and paid internship that will start on or around June 5, 2023, with an end date of August 12, 2023.
Main Accountabilities:
The internship will have exposure to:
- Transmission interconnection processes across the U.S.
- Interconnection and power flow studies
- LMP and power market analysis and
- Analytical tool development and data analysis
Minimum Qualifications:
- Rising senior or graduate students with a preference on electric power system background
- Familiar with power system analysis and tools such as PSSE or Power World
- Skilled in programming and data analysis using Python or SQL
- Understanding of Microsoft products and/or complementing products preferred.
- Competency in Analytical Problem Solving and Strong Communication

Physical Demands & Working Conditions:
- Sitting/Standing/Flexibility: Ability to stand and sit for 8 or more hours when in an office environment
- Speech/Reading: Ability to speak, read, and write English proficiently and deliver a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form
- Lifting: Ability to lift items weighing up to 10 pounds
- Vision/Hearing: Ability to understand a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form
- Safety: Ability to understand and communicate safety precautions when necessary
