General Description:

The Transmission summer intern will work with EDPR's Transmission and Interconnection Department for three months with a focus on utility-scale renewable projects.

This is a 10-week full-time and paid internship that will start on or around June 5, 2023, with an end date of August 12, 2023.


Main Accountabilities:

The internship will have exposure to:

  • Transmission interconnection processes across the U.S.
  • Interconnection and power flow studies
  • LMP and power market analysis and
  • Analytical tool development and data analysis

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Rising senior or graduate students with a preference on electric power system background
  • Familiar with power system analysis and tools such as PSSE or Power World
  • Skilled in programming and data analysis using Python or SQL
  • Understanding of Microsoft products and/or complementing products preferred.
  • Competency in Analytical Problem Solving and Strong Communication

Physical Demands & Working Conditions:

  • Sitting/Standing/Flexibility: Ability to stand and sit for 8 or more hours when in an office environment
  • Speech/Reading: Ability to speak, read, and write English proficiently and deliver a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form
  • Lifting: Ability to lift items weighing up to 10 pounds
  • Vision/Hearing: Ability to understand a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form
  • Safety: Ability to understand and communicate safety precautions when necessary
