Responsibilities
Position Summary
Under the direction of a licensed nurse, provides patient care by performing basic procedures and selected specialized procedures that contribute to the well being, comfort and safety of patients. Performs technical procedures and reports findings to the nursing staff. Tasks include: performing venipuncture for blood samples, performing EKGs, placing electrodes and obtaining telemetry readings. Collects specimens, performs basic tests or sends specimens to appropriate laboratory for analysis per Hospital policies.
Candidates must be available for rotating shifts, and every other weekend and holiday.
Requirements
Requires high school diploma or GED and two years of experience in health care delivery in positions such as: Nursing Assistant; Home Health Aide; EMT; Medic/Corps Person; or two clinical semesters completed as a Nursing Student; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
