National Grid is hiring a Senior Energy Efficiency Sales Representative in the Sales and Strategic Partnerships New York City and Long Island commercial team. Job location can be located in Hicksville NY or Canarsie NY office.
Job Purpose

Senior Energy Efficiency Sales Representative, part of the New York Customer Solutions Team, focused on delivering energy reducing products and services in our New York City and Long Island natural gas service territory customers.
As a
Senior Sales Representative, you will be responsible for working with our Commercial, Industrial, and Multifamily customers to engage them in our Energy Efficiency programs, being the catalyst driving energy efficiency projects and delivering thermal savings. This role will also be responsible for the introduction and selling of any new commercial products National Grid brings to the marketplace.
As part of our Sales and Strategic Partnerships team, you will be responsible for researching accounts, developing account plans, selling energy conducting all energy efficiency sales activities and deliver on assigned sales targets. This includes maintaining strong sales funnel and achieve high appointment and close rates. In addition, you will act as the first point of contact representing National Grid to customers providing information about our available services and be at the forefront of communicating market developments in the energy industry to ensure the optimization of best practices for our customers and for National Grid.
Key Accountabilities
Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
- Manage the day-to-day relationships with customers, other industry contacts, and fellow sales representatives to understand and deliver appropriate solutions, in line with National Grid policies and processes.
- Generate sales opportunities and appointments for the Commercial, Industrial, and Multifamily customer markets at or above assigned targets.
- Follow up on leads and develop effective relationships with current and prospective customers to explain and promote National Grid services for creating sales, generating energy efficiency savings.
- Develop short- and long-term outreach and partner collaboration plans to effectively execute the delivery strategy and support the achievement of program goals.
- Develop and execute sales plans, in line with National Grid’s overall business objectives, to increase opportunities with new and existing customers.
- Develop and maintain a technical understanding of energy efficiency services and measures that apply to programs, technologies and properties. Research primary data sources and analyses trends to support defining the approach and performance targets for the market.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Engineering preferred
- 3+ years of work experience in Progressive Sales/Outreach management, including planning, project implementation, budget management and client / account management
- Engineering degree or experience a plus
- Knowledge of various commercial heating equipment
- Self-starter, an ability to work both independently and as part of a highly dynamic collaborative team
- Corporate incentive compensation (variable pay) structure experience.
- Knowledge of Energy Efficiency programs and products, utility rate structures, billing concepts, and gas distribution assets and utility policies and procedure a plus.
- Valid driver’s license required with a safe driving history that meets National Grid’s Safe Driver policy.

Salary
$97,000 - $114,00 a year (base salary/commission)
