Job Description
Sr Quality Assurance Engineer
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY: Develops, evaluates, revises, and applies technical quality assurance protocols/methods to inspect and test in-process raw materials, production equipment, and finished products. Ensures activities and items are in compliance with both company quality assurance standards and applicable government regulations. Performs analysis and identifies trends in the inspection of finished products, in-process materials and bulk raw materials, and recommends corrective actions when necessary. Ensures that established manufacturing inspection, sampling and statistical process control procedures are followed. May assure compliance to in-house and/or external specifications and standards, such as GMPs and ISO regulations. Evaluates and analyzes the efforts in organizing, documenting, and interpreting inspection support documents and records.
Responsibilities:
- Work with the Quality Manager to maintain and improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure the compliance with Corporate Quality requirements as well as DLA MIL-PRF-19500, 38534, 38535, International Standards (ISO9001) and other applicable quality and regulatory standards.
- Participate in internal, supplier, and customer audits; Customer complaint process; corrective/preventive action programs; product conformity.
- Monitor quality metrics and implement corrective action when those metrics do not conform to goals.
- Investigate and coordinate failure analysis with suppliers and internally to determine root cause, containment and corrective actions.
- Provide consultation and participate in supplier selection and qualification process.
- Assist in generating presentations to global customers, suppliers and manufacturing sites.
- Effectively interact with production and engineering teams to maintain process and product quality.
- Support document control function.
- Use quality principles, rules, systems and tools to support improvement activities and workshops through coaching, training and facilitation, with a highly customer centric focus.
Minimum Requirements:
- BSEE required with 5 years of experience in quality engineering
- Understanding of semiconductor manufacturing, assembly and test
- Knowledge of MIL-PRF-38534 and MIL-PRF-19500 specifications a plus.
- Prior experience working with ISO9001. Knowledge of AS9100 a plus.
- Prior experience planning and performing audits for supplier site and product qualifications.
- Ability to travel internationally and domestically to suppliers
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, presentation and project management skills, and perform well under pressure.
- Ability to work and thrive in a team environment
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer is a plus.

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $85,900 - $164,600 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different base pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S. Benefits include access to healthcare benefits (including a premium-free medical plan option), a 401(k) plan and company match, an employee stock purchase plan, paid time off (including vacation, sick/wellness, parental leave), among others.
