Discover Impactful Work:

As the Sr Manager, Engineering and Maintenance, you play a critical role in meeting the needs of our customers as well as our team. You’ll be responsible for keeping our facility safe, our equipment running efficiently and will support facility improvements.

A Day In The Life:

  • Lead the plant equipment preventive maintenance program to ensure all PM’s are completed in a timely manner, enabling our equipment to meet published specifications.
  • Must be a technical resource for Operations, EHS, Quality Assurance, Quality Control and Procurement departments supporting incident investigations and daily operational problem solving.
  • Uses a systematic approach for maintaining all plant critical systems (HVAC, Compressed Air, Water, electrical, thermal oxidizers, wet chemical scrubbers, fire protections systems, security systems, buildings & grounds, etc.) to ensure efficient operation and regulatory compliance.
  • Leads staff and vendors responsible for maintaining all aspects of the grounds and facility.
  • Negotiates, Leads and monitors all plant maintenance contracts.
  • Lead Maintenance and Engineering department budgets to ensure commitments, capital expenditures, and Value Improvement Programs are carried out within budget.
  • Builds and leads a high-performance team of engaged and motivated professionals while building bench-strength within the organization.

Keys to Success:

Education

  • BS in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or related subject area required.

Experience

  • 5-7 years of experience in manufacturing engineering roles.
  • Experience leading teams of exempt and non-exempt colleagues.
  • Proven track record of leading capital improvement projects at a manufacturing site (develop annual Capex budget and create, obtain approval and complete individual Capex projects).
  • Experience in a highly-regulated chemical production environment is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledgeable of applicable regulatory requirements: OSHA standards, NJDEP requirements, etc.

  • Consistent track record of meeting objectives with a sense of urgency and driving operational excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Proven skills in developing direct reports through coaching and mentoring.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with peers and members of management
  • Demonstrated skills in implementing and using continuous process improvement techniques.
  • Ability to react appropriately to evolving business needs and prioritize tasks and optimally lead in a highly matrix organization.
