Sr. Financial Analyst
Under the direction of BMG Leadership, this position is responsible for providing in depth reporting, analysis and interpretation of various aspects of the Medical Group's financial performance to BMG Leadership and the medical providers, as well as leading the process of planning, initiating and directing staff in the maintenance and use of BMG's accounting, decision support system (both financial and clinical) and other relevant decision support data bases. This work includes cost and revenue studies, business planning including new practice acquisition, practice performance reports, provider productivity analysis and other analyses as directed. This position will also act as the BMG financial liaison to the Hospital's CFO/Finance Department, as well as other stakeholders throughout the health system. Requirments:
- A minimum of five years experience in a financial reporting role of a large hospital affiliated medical practice group.
- Experience working with EMR and other systems that support financial integration.
- Broad knowledge of physician practice workflow models and experience in physician practice financial management.
Responsibilities:
- Leads the analysis of BMG results relative to budget and past history.
- Identifies key issues, trends, and problem areas and communicate findings to BMG Leadership, including the medical providers.
- Develops and maintains BMG budget procedures, schedules and other supporting materials to ensure accurate and timely production of detailed operating and practice budgets.
- Trains BMG Office Coordinators and other staff as needed in budget processes and procedures, performance reporting, and various analyses. Articulates the most appropriate uses and limits of systems/databases (Athena/CMGA) to BMG Leadership and providers in a manner that is understandable.
- Works with providers to continually enhance their own understanding/productivity of the available systems and databases.
- Report and present to leadership accurate, timely and relevant reports, information and analysis to BMG Leadership regarding financial performance productivity, cost accounting and other trend analysis.
- Provide results reporting to BMG Board and other senior level executives. Demonstrates an understanding of medical practice finance information/analysis and functions as a resource, as well as a change agent, establishing a rapport with leadership, and the management team, to work with them to streamline the process of BMG financial performance.
- Demonstrates a strong working knowledge of Athena EHR, CMGA, and other related financial software and physician compensation models.
- Works closely with BMG Leadership in the review and calculation of compensation aspects of the medical provider employment agreements and amendments, as well as the timely implementation of all compensation initiatives to include sign on bonus, relocation expenses, malpractice/tail coverage, etc.
- Payroll approval/implementation for all BMG medical providers, walk-in centers and administrative staff.
