SUMMARY:
The Senior Director, Digital Marketing & Content Strategy is responsible for the continued digital transformation of the Minnesota Vikings organization – driving the vision for fan experience across all Digital and Social.
Sitting within the Marketing vertical and reporting to the VP, Content & Production, the Sr. Director will drive cross-channel integration and planning for the Minnesota Vikings in order to engage and inspire Vikings fans. The role will oversee all owned and operated (O&O) digital platforms and products as well as team social channels with the objective of collaborating to develop a clear, engaging short and long lead content strategy. Based at Twin Cities Orthopedics Performance Center in Eagan, Minnesota, this position will also provide strategic digital and social media guidance and partnership to multiple departments including Ticket Sales, Corporate Partnerships, Partnership Activation, Marketing, Business Strategy, Business Analytics, Social Impact, and more.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serve as an inclusive, team-first leader within Vikings Entertainment Network (VEN) and across the organization, providing mentorship and identifying growth opportunities for our talented staff.
Lead by example supporting a culture that inspires your teammates and fosters a synergy within that raises the level of ideation and execution.
Partner with VP, Content & Production and VEN Leadership to drive the vision and strategy for fan experience across all digital and social.
Responsible for the Digital Marketing & Media and Social Marketing & Media teams that set and facilitate the strategy and ensures organizational goals are met through the Vikings O&O’s and Vikings primary social channels. This includes maximizing digital content distribution, monetization opportunities, and marketing initiatives.
Responsible for the Content Product team including Content Strategy, Editorial and In-House Talent. This team facilitates the evolving process of optimizing content products, and represents the organization as fan-facing brand extensions covering the team and authoring content.
Ensure that our strategic pillars are woven into department priorities. Win Super Bowls, Provide a world-class fan experience, use our platform for positive impact, and build upon our legacy.
Collaborate with your teams and to create and communicate an annual Platform Strategy resulting in a clear understanding of how each channel drives brand strategy and connects with fan personas.
Lead the process of setting annual department goals that align with organizational pillars and annual business objectives, alongside a collaborative and transparent annual budgeting process to position the department to achieve said goals and support other departments to achieve theirs.
Creation and high level oversight of a comprehensive content distribution calendar that influences organizational expectations through visibility.
Partner with Business Analytics to build BI tools and dashboards including a transparent content dashboard that solidifies consistent interpretation of content performance metrics.
Translate content performance metrics into insights-driven content strategies that grow audiences, drive engagement, create value for partners, and drive ROI from paid efforts.
Partner with Vikings Leadership to shepherd cross-departmental stakeholders through digital and social philosophies as they strategize their respective department goals and initiatives in support of the organizations broader business impact efforts.
Oversee continued development of advanced Email Marketing, Push, and Paid Social strategies including performance and pacing across all active platforms.
Partner with Director of Entertainment Marketing and other stakeholders to advance development of our Influencer and Creator network and Director of International Marketing to develop content strategy that supports our overall International marketing.
Lead the ongoing process with stakeholders to continuously define the look/feel/tone/voice of team affiliated social channels, including but not limited to regularly reviewing and updating policies around social media, branded content, etc.
Oversee digital vendor management and resource efficiencies in partnership with Technology Solutions Manager, including the regular cadence of mobile app updates and development of future integrations. This includes, but is not limited to, AR, VR, CTV/OTT, Web3, gamification, etc.
Extend a best-in-class approach to others in the league ecosystem, supporting the league through participation in various committees, or presenting best practices.
Exhibit a philosophy of continuous learning related to industry and platform trends.

REQUIREMENTS:

Mastery of major social media platforms, digital marketing, and using a data-inspired approach to meet evolving customer needs across personas.
Demonstrated experience working with industry contacts to leverage premium storylines into earned media across social media ecosystem.
Understanding of brand/product philosophy with an ability to apply similar principles to content franchises.
Deep understanding and application of current and future social and digital trends.
QUALIFICATIONS:
10+ years of experience across multiple digital and social media functions including strategy, digital marketing, content production, and distribution within a demanding professional setting.
