As our Sr. Business Intelligence Strategist, you will...

Be Accountable and Responsible

Be part of the BI Consulting team. The Senior BI Strategist will be leading multiple projects at one time. You will lead implementation projects focused on delivering compelling insights and visualizations that help our clients make better, data-driven decisions. You will have an expert understanding of Business Intelligence Consulting principles, trends, best practices and approaches, technologies, frameworks, and tools for creating efficient BI infrastructure and solutions. In this role, you will get the opportunity to work with people in the C-suite at large corporations as well as analysts, marketers, finance teams, and our performance marketing teams. You'll innovate and push the limits on what is standard in our industry and our client's industries as it relates to dashboarding solutions and guiding reporting infrastructure solutions with our technical consultants. As a highly leveraged team member, you will proactively seek to mentor others and share BI discoveries with our team and our entire organization. In this role, you need to be proactive, organized, curious, and thrive on deadlines.

Leading Consulting Engagements

  • Requirements Definition - Ensure alignment on project scope with key client stakeholders and within our team
  • Led the Solution Design, Wireframing & Visualization process
  • Build best-in-class dashboards
  • Guide Data Analysis, QA, and Validation
  • Project Management & Documentation - Set and manage timelines for delivery via the Project Plan
  • Manage Project Budgets - Communicate budget utilization and ensure alignment on project priorities with the remaining budget available
  • Consult and Guide on Governance Policies (Sys Admins, Power Users, Business Users, Executives)
  • Guide and Deliver Solution Summary Documentation
  • Advise on strategies for client growth, expansion, and adoption

These are the qualifications we're looking for

  • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent industry experience) in a quantitative field of study
  • 5-8 years of experience supporting business intelligence systems
  • Previous Consulting experience managing multiple projects and stakeholders
  • Experience working with business users to gather requirements, guiding a team to write functional and technical specifications, and communicating technical requirements (or experience in writing them yourself)
  • A working knowledge of specialized BI and data visualization tools like Domo, Tableau, PowerBI, Qlikview, Sisense, Datorama, etc.
  • Hands-on SQL skills required
  • Strong knowledge and application of data literacy in a business setting
  • Proven experience in effectively partnering with business teams to deliver their goals and outcomes
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment
  • Ability to think outside the box, adapt quickly and learn while 'on the go
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple task assignments
  • Ability to effectively manage customer expectations and project deliverables
  • Experience working with data in a Cloud Environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Confident in presentations to people at every level - from entry-level employees to senior vice presidents - is a must
  • Experience in recognizing business problems and recommending/developing solutions for a variety of business data (Marketing, Finance, Operations, etc.)
  • Mentor internal team members, guiding programs and best practices

Compensation: $85,000 - $100,000

Salary differential is based on seniority, merit, education, training, and experience. MERGE's career ladders reflect department growth from Associate through Partner levels, with details of roles and responsibilities associated with each group. New hires are assigned a job level within a particular position based on these criteria and salary is set within the job level based on these criteria. Growth from one level to the next occurs when employees master their role and are promoted to the next level, generally during salary review cycles that are posted in the employee handbook.
