The Speech-Language Pathologist is an essential role in our sites. The SLP must work together with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement the highest possible levels of care for our residents.

Responsibilities

This position directly oversees all aspects of speech and language pathology; including assessment, treatment planning, implementation and ongoing review, so strong professional competency and experience is essential. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Screening short and long term residents, evaluating and interpreting data and determining relevant treatment plans
  • Setting goals in conjunction with interdisciplinary team members. Appropriately document progress and status.
  • Reevaluating care plans based on new and emergent conditions, as well as resident progress
  • Responding to individualized requests and making referrals, as needed
  • training family or caregivers, as needed

Because of the nature of our multidisciplinary approach, all candidates must be able to thrive in team environments. Experience working with a geriatric population is required, as is an active state license and Certificate of Clinical Competence from an American Speech Language/Hearing Association-approved institution.
