American Groves is seeking an energetic and compassionate Spa and Fitness Manager to be part of our Reserve Wellness and Spa for our resort style active senior living community. The Reserve is an all-encompassing wellness spa where our residents can relax, recharge, and leave rejuvenated. It is a destination within a destination that includes a day spa, fitness center, salon, movement studio, pool, and hot tub that was purposefully built to aid in our resident's journey toward whole-body wellness.

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the overall health and wellness program to achieve the community's vision
• Ensure the successful integration of the Spa and Fitness Center into the overall operations of the community
• Effectively supervise Spa and Fitness team and maintain operations
• Recruits, trains, motivates, and leads the spa, salon, and fitness personnel to perform professional, coordinated, efficient, friendly service and to ensure resident and/or guest satisfaction
• Ensures the staff is fully knowledgeable on the use and benefits of services, products, programs, and activities by conducting regularly scheduled team meetings and training workshops
• Develop and oversee innovative and robust monthly fitness classes tailored to the ability and preferences of our residents
• Prepare, motivate, and lead scheduled group exercise classes for the residents focusing on flexibility, cardio, strength, core training, and balance
• Provide orientation to residents in our Reserve fitness center
• Work individually with residents and their family members to get to know their personal needs, interests, and preferences
• Provide support to Executive Director through excellent communication and business analysis
• Assist in interpreting spa financial reports and help provide expertise on (projected) revenue vs. expenses
• Assist in developing procedures for accurate spa sales, marketing, inventory control and monitoring
• Ensure fiscal responsibility though efficient scheduling of facility and make necessary changes to stay within budgetary guidelines
• Specifies and controls efficient usage of professional products for all services by completing a service cost analysis and implementing an inventory control system
• Maintains monthly inventory of supplies, equipment, and products

Required Qualifications:

• Certification as a Fitness Instructor (AEA, ACE, AFAA, or others)
• Prior group senior fitness, aquatic fitness and 1:1 personal training preferred
• Spa/Fitness management experience
• Knowledge of professional spa services and treatments
• Experience in the hospitality industry or customer service industry required
• Familiarity with spa operations is preferred but not required
• Knowledge of retail operations and inventory systems
• Dedicated to and passion to serve seniors with excellent customer service skills
• Self-motivated, organized and professional
