RESPONSIBILITIES
Able to perform all essential Project Engineer responsibilities
- Tracking the quantity and delivery date of construction material (piles, modules, racking, and inverters). This task includes coordinating with vendors and informing the field team when the material has arrived. PE will need to assist the field team in ensuring the right number of materials has arrived on site.
- Take weekly progress photos of the job site, at least once a week.
- Setting up and mainting the document control system that is stored on sharepoint. This also includes the distribution of all documents to subcontractors and maintianing submittals and RFIs on the internal system. The PE will also be responsible for maintaining the owner provided document control system. The PE will need to submit transmittals, submittals and RFIs to the owner. The PE will also be in charge of answering any owner provided comments on their document control system.
- Creating a material breakdown for the job site. The PE will calculate the number of materials required for each block and work with the logistics team to stage the material correctly.
- Attend and document project meetings when necessary
- Assist with the preparation of CPM schedules as well as assist with updating and maintaining master CPM schedule.
- Evaluate field problems and document RFI's
- Review, evaluate and transmit submittals
- Prepare and maintain submittal logs
Able to perform all essential Sr. Project Engineer responsibilities
- Assisting Assistant Project Manager and Project Manager in supporting the Project Engineers on the jobsite
- Review and assemble change order submittals and quantify surveys
- Maintain change order log
- Compile contract close out documents (O&M manuals, as builts, etc.)
- Document punch list work
Complete other responsibilities as assigned by supporting the site management team of Superintendent, and Project Managers.
Person to be proficient in computer skills using Microsoft Outlook, Bluebeam, Microsoft Word, and excel.
The position is for being on the job site. Will spend time in the job site office, as well as out in the field gathering information.
Work hours minimum of 40 hours per week, and maybe up to 50 or 60 hours a week depending on job needs. The typical work week will be Monday – Thursday, but be prepared to work Fridays and Saturdays if needed.
Exact pay is determined based on experience.
MINIMUM SKILLS OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Undergraduate Degree in Engineering or Construction Management
- 2 years of Project Engineer experience or construction-related experience required
- Field experience a plus – e.g. carpenter
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to read and understand plans and specifications
- Effective organizational skills
- Effective written and verbal English language communication skills
- Ability to use independent judgment; self-starting
- Solar experience is preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour
