Software Engineer Job at Cisco Systems
- Expert level skills with Python (5+ years) and Python Web Frameworks (Django, Flask or similar MVC)
- Proven enterprise level software development competency with high scalability projects
- Ability to debug distributed systems with high data loads
- Proficient with:
- HTML/CSS/JS; AngularJS is a plus
- NoSQL database: MongoDB
- Relational database: MySQL or MariaDB
- Bash/Unix Shell Scripting
- Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery
- Git or similar distributed version control system
- Agile development practices and issue management with JIRA or Rally
- Docker development and Containerization
- Linux system administration, one or more of: Red Hat, CentOS, Debian, Ubuntu
- Sound knowledge of quality assurance procedures
- Solid communication skills:
- Build client relationships (e.g., establish productive and reciprocal relationships with CMS/CX Teams, customers, partners, and other stakeholders)
- Professional & concise (written & verbal)
- Proficient with: Kubernetes, Cisco IOS, Cloud DevOps (AWS/GCP) is a plus, Automated testing
- ScienceLogic Em7 administration, policy management, and event correlation
- Working knowledge of network routing and protocols including IP, TCP/IP, and SNMP
- Prior experience supporting satellite communications, telemetry systems, network engineering, telecommunications, or similar industries with complex monitoring/management applications

U.S. employees have access to quality medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Cisco matching contribution, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance and numerous wellbeing offerings. Employees receive up to twelve paid holidays per calendar year, which includes one floating holiday, plus a day off for their birthday. Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco pays at the standard rate of 1% of incentive target for each 1% revenue attainment against the quota up to 100%. Once performance exceeds 100% quota attainment, incentive rates may increase up to five times the standard rate with no cap on incentive compensation. For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
