The Scituate School Department School Social WorkerThe successful candidate MUST BE certified from the RI Department of Education and their certificate must be current and valid . The candidate must also successfully pass a national background check with fingerprints with the RI Attorney General's office. The school social worker works cohesively as a member of a team with staff,colleagues, and administrators to improve the academic achievement, career, and personal-social well-being of allstudents by providing school social work services to and on behalf of students and collaborating with communityagencies to ensure students have access to positive educational programs. The school social worker actively andeffectively participates as a member of evaluation and problem solving teams (MTSS, crisis intervention, IEP, 504,etc.) and supports students with individual and small group sessions in a manner that is consistent with the goals ofthe school and mission of the district to develop, implement, and continuously improve a personalized, rigorous,relevant, and collaborative learning environment supported by technology
