Overview:
The Social Worker II will carry a caseload of approximately eight families.
Work Location: 1433 Hooper Avenue, Toms River, New Jersey
Schedule: 35 Hours Per Week
Training in Trauma Informed/Evidence Based treatment modalities preferred but not required.

Work Experience Requirement: Must have a minimum of three to five years’ experience working successfully with at risk families in an accredited social service agency. Experience working successfully with high risk families.

This position within the Children’s Home Society is providing counseling to families involved with DCP&P. This position provides an array of clinical experience to grow your career. Candidates are supported within the program team, through clinical supervision, and throughout the agency. Training in Trauma Informed/Evidence Based treatment modalities preferred but not required.
Responsibilities:
Carry an average caseload of 8 families.- Provide weekly individual and /or couples’ counseling to parents whose children are in foster care.
- Counseling and parenting group are geared towards identifying and resolving the issues that led to the child’s placement.
- Provide biweekly therapeutic visits for parents and children.
- Prepare and facilitate weekly parenting group.
- Meet with DCP&P bi-monthly for case conferences.
- Participate in necessary meetings (litigation, enhanced reviews, FTM).
- Prepare monthly summaries, and assessments as needed.
- Provide in home counseling services once children are returned home.
- Make referrals to appropriate agencies for resources and supportive services
- Monitor parents’ progress with services and overall stability in order to assist DCP&P in supporting a permanent plan for the child.
All social workers in this category must have the ability to use their training and experience constructively in social work practice (diagnostic and treatment planning skills must be demonstrated), be willing to conduct him/her self according to the ethics of the profession, be interested in increased skills and knowledge, be able to record, organize and execute the duties assigned, and be able to work cooperatively with other members of the staff, agencies, and community. Must have a car and valid driver’s license as travel and transportation of clients is required.

Education Requirements:
Master’s Degree from an accredited school of social work, a Licensed Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor or Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
