Shipping Supervisor 2nd Shift Job at JOST International
INTRODUCTION: This position reports to Logistics Manager. It is solely accountable for the fulfillment of all assigned duties and has authority delegated commensurate with assigned responsibilities.
SUPERVISOR - SHIPPING– Performs functions pertaining to the operations of the shipping/receiving/warehouse area and placement of all inventories.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: Include, but are not limited to:
a)Supervision of all shipping personnel (following JOST rules and policies, monitoring time and attendance, training, and taking action as necessary)
b)Oversee preparation of shipments (packaged and labeled per the customer and JOST specification) (both units and kits)
c)General safety of all shipping areas as well as keeping area clean.
d)Operate and train others to operate material handling equipment.
e)Inspection of product and paperwork for shipment.
f)Loading and unloading trucks or carriers.
g)Optimize warehousing areas and update/coordinate/change as necessary as business and operations change including racking and labeling changes.
h)Maintain inventory accuracy to ERP system, investigate and develop processes and methods to support.
i)Support/implement 5S and lean operations in facility.
j)Assign task to shipping/receiving/warehousing employees as required.
k)Required to effectively participate in corrective action teams in order to address the root cause in a timely manner.
l)Any additional duties that have not been specifically stated, but which may be assigned and those that are logically and properly inherent to this position.
REQUIREMENTS:
a)Ability to gain knowledge of JOST shipping and procedures.
b)Five-year on the job experience in shipping/receiving/warehousing.
c)Ability to read and write legibly.
d)Forklift Certification required.
e)Basic math skills required.
f)Ability to gain JOST International low lift pallet truck certification.
g)Ability to gain knowledge of company products. Comply with quality, environmental, safety and JOST company policies and procedures.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Work is generally performed in a production plant 10 % of time, 20 % in an office & 70 % in a warehouse setting.
While performing duties of this job, the employee will regularly; sit, stand, walk, reach, bend, twist and occasionally will be required to stoop, kneel, lift, or move objects of 51 pounds or less with or without assistance.
