SHIFT LEADER NEEDED FOR RIVIERA BEACH PREPARATORY ACADEMY

We are looking for a working Shift Leader to oversee operations and workers, as well as work in completing required tasks. Shift Leader responsibilities include managing cash, resolving conflicts and checking equipment. Ultimately, you will ensure all aspects of your shift run smoothly and effectively. Responsibilities

• Assumes responsibility of operations in the absence of the cafeteria manager.
• Performs kitchen duties as outlined on the work schedule which includes, but is not limited to, food production, dish machine operation, cashiering, backup, and cleanup.
• Assists in the successful operation of the food service program to meet the needs of the school in a manner that results in high customer satisfaction.
• Assists with orders, proper storage, and inventories for all supplies and food stocks received.
• Serves as lead worker to carry out the duties of the kitchen, such as cashiering, and preparing bank deposits and cash receipts in accordance with the District’s financial procedures.
• Assists the manager in planning and monitoring the food production, and ensures that meal service is safe and that good quality food is served in proper quantities at the appropriate time.
• Assists manager with the preparation of all daily reports, logs, and the production record.
• Performs daily and weekly computer responsibilities under the supervision of the manager.
• Builds positive relationships with the principal, faculty, staff, parents, and students, and actively promotes and markets the School Food Service program.
• Assists the manager in adherence to all safety, sanitation, and HACCP procedures.
• Participates in annual/ongoing training and education initiatives related to the position’s food service role as promulgated by the USDA Food and Nutrition Service and evolving department standards.

Skills

• Proven experience as a Shift Leader or relevant managerial role
• Knowledge of the industry and relevant health and safety regulations - Minimum two years of experience
• Commitment to excellent service
• Working well within a team
• Leadership skills and ability to make decisions fast
• Strong problem-solving aptitude
• Ability to stand for long periods
• High school diploma or GED is required (will be required to submit original or sealed transcript)

In order to be hired with the School District, you must meet the following qualifications:

1. Pass a physical demand test where you will need to lift 42 lbs.

2. Pass a drug screen.

3. Pass a criminal background check.
