Job Purpose:

Our Sheetmetal Worker fabricates, assembles, installs, and repairs sheet metal systems.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Determines project tool requirements, assembly sequences, and required methods and materials, according to blueprints, drawings, and written or verbal instructions.
  • Adhere to Worley’s Safety policies and procedures as well as provide feedback on job practices that could be improved upon in the workplace.
  • Fabricates, assembles, installs, and repairs sheet metal products such as architectural panels.
  • Sets up and operates fabricating machines, such as shears, brakes, bending rolls and punch and drill presses to cut, bend and straighten sheet metal.
  • Fastens seams and joints together with bolts, cement, rivets, caulks, metal drive clips, and bonds to assemble components into products or to repair sheet metal items.
  • Installs and inspects individual parts, assemblies, and installations for conformance to specifications and codes, using measuring instruments.
  • Lays out, measures, and marks dimensions and reference lines on material.
  • Trims, deburrs, and smooths surfaces, seams, and joints of assembled parts.
  • Ability to install metal module doors and hardware” and “ability to operate automatic roof seamer.

Knowledge, Skills, Ability:

  • Knowledge of fabrication, assembly, handling, installation, dismantling, adjustment, alteration, and repair of sheet metal.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the industrial construction or repair.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate with other employees. The employee must be able to lift and move up to forty (40) pounds, stand for long periods of time, extended periods of kneeling and or bending, ascending or descending ladders or stairs, and repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.

Employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places, extreme cold or heat and high noise levels. Employee will work in an environment where there is risk that they will be exposed to toxic, caustic and/or hazardous chemicals, fumes or airborne particles. Workers are required to wear personal protective equipment while on the job. The work generally requires routine walking, sitting, standing, squatting, climbing, stooping, bending, twisting, reaching and carrying items. An individual will be required to work the majority of hours in an industrial environment and will need to be able to quickly respond to a change in work demands.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  • Two (2) years of industrial journeyman experience required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
