Starting pay is $14.50/hour

Summary:

Sew patterns in existing parts or assemble parts by sewing, according to prescribed patterns, by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities:

• Adhere to established safety policies, procedures and practices
• Support the organization's efforts toward continuous improvement
• Support the organization's goals and values
• Demonstrate teamwork by working with others to improve overall standards of performance and service
• Willing and able to cross-train on other positions within Production
• Warm up by stretching prior to starting a shift or after a meal period using proper ergonomic techniques
• Match product and truck labels
• Read and understand schedules and process sheets
• Know and understand the differences in various stitch lengths and thread color
• Trim excess scrap/thread from part using proper cutting tool(s) when necessary
• Know single-fold and double fold applications
• Properly load and use industrial long arm sewing machine
• Properly maintain equipment for daily use and identify when the Sewing Mechanic is needed
• Properly load and use snap machine and hot strap cutter as required
• Attach buckles, velcro or snaps as required
• Complete documentation with necessary information in accordance with the standard operating procedures.
• Maintain product identification and traceability per defined requirements
• Clean work areas thoroughly each day at the end of shift
• Other duties may be assigned as required

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED); and one to three months related manufacturing experience or training.
