Alcove, a bustling neighborhood restaurant that highlights coastal New England cuisine, is looking for a Server Assistant to join their expanding team.
Owner Tom Schlesinger-Guidelli recently welcomed the award-winning Chef Charles Draghi to the helm of the West End spot. Draghi, who closed his well-loved Bay Village endeavor, erbaluce, in 2018 after a decade-long run, came up in some of the city’s top kitchens including L’Espalier, Harvest, Tangiers, and Marcuccio’s. He brings his expertise and professionalism to the TD Garden-adjacent restaurant, known for its one-of-a-kind location overlooking the Charles River and the Zakim Bridge. They are entering their third year as a destination in the West End, with a large four-season waterfront patio, an award-winning beverage program, and a thoughtful and modern approach to hospitality.
The Server Assistant is an integral part of the service team and performs a number of responsibilities that directly impact guests’ dining experience. They provide a memorable dining experience to guests while conforming to the restaurant’s standards of excellence for quality, professionalism and hospitality. The position clears tables and resets them neatly, rapidly and completely according to specification. The Server Assistant assists with the serving of food, set-up and clearing of china, glass, and silver from service as well as attend to guest needs and requests in a prompt and courteous fashion.
Job Requirements: They are looking for an individual who possesses an affinity for thoughtful hospitality. Candidates must have excellent personal presentation and interpersonal skills. The ability to perform this position to the restaurant’s standards and learn the sequence of service is required. The position requires the ability to lift up to 40lbs. The ideal candidate will have an outgoing personality and a can-do approach to any request!
- Stock and maintain correct levels of glassware and silver for service ensuring that all are polished and in good condition.
- Greet guests in a professional manner, serve beverage and food items while explaining the contents, and anticipate and service the guest’s needs before requests are necessary.
- Preparation of dining room and patio service stations.
- Assistance with guest service including safely delivering food from the kitchen to the guests, as well as removal of items from the guest’s table.
- Breakdown, clean and set-up of tables, service stations, and food stations.
This is a full time tipped position and benefits include health insurance after 90 days of employment. All employees are required to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
Alcove is open for lunch and dinner 7 days a week. They are seeking a candidate who is able to work both nights and weekends.
Alcove is easily accessible on public transportation.
