CTUIR MISSION STATEMENT


Exercise the Tribe?s sovereign authority to achieve the maximum protection of resources identified in the Treaty of 1855, to protect newly acquired lands wherein the Tribe has a vested interest, to protect the lands of all the citizens and residents of the Umatilla Indian Reservation. This position will protect human life, water, land, air, and wildlife by exercising professional skills and abilities in the protection of the resources of the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation.


OIT/ITS MISSION STATEMENT AND GOALS:

Provide services and Infrastructure to ensure the secure flow and beneficial use of information within Tribal Government.

  • Facilitate and encourage the beneficial use of information systems by Tribal programs.
  • Protect and maintain data and network security and business continuity in an IT context
  • Promote good computing practices to be followed by CTUIR Staff in accordance with CTUIR needs.
  • Support the increased beneficial use of IT throughout CTUIR.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES


The Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation (CTUIR) is a dynamic organization at an exciting phase in developing its information technology capabilities. We are seeking an exceptional individual to fill the role of Server Administrator in the Office of Information Technology Information Technology Services program.


The Server Administrator?s role is to manage and tune on-premises and cloud-based computer software systems and servers to ensure high levels of availability and security of the supported business applications. The Server Administrator will provide backup support for the duties of the Systems Administrator.


EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
  • Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media or disks. Ensure media is recycled and sent off site as necessary.
  • Perform regular file archival and purge as necessary.
  • Verify enterprise centralized updates are up to date and approve for install.
  • Develop, document and maintain installation and configuration procedures.
  • Contribute to and maintain system specification and design standards.
  • Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks. Identify approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale.
  • Maintains system inventory documentation.
  • Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products.
  • Work with the Systems Administrator to develop and implement testing strategies and document results.
  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
  • Participates in special projects as required.
  • Attends trainings and maintain certifications.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Systems Administrator and/or ITS Program Manager relating to the mission and goals of the program.

ACCESS TO SENSITIVE AREAS: Position will have access to sensitive areas of the organization and the employee will be required to sign confidentiality statements as well as pass a police/FBI background check in order to work with their systems. They will also be required to pass a CTUIR Gaming Commission background check for access to the Gaming commission information.
