Senior Manager, IT Strategy & Planning

Purpose

~ Hyundai Motor North America is seeking to hire a Senior Manager, IT Strategy and Planning in its Digital Business Planning and Connected Ops division.

~ This position is responsible for all governance of IT and related activities that ensure Hyundai Motor North America (HMNA) business units achieve their business objectives. This is achieved through effective planning, regional focus across HMNA business units for major initiatives, coordination with our primary IT partner Hyundai AutoEver America (HAEA), and other third-party partners. The expected outcome of the governance process is to ensure that all HMNA business units perform their responsibilities so that regional IT strategies are clearly articulated and executed across HMNA business units.

~ The Senior Manager will work with business and technical leaders in Hyundai Motor Corporation (HMC), Hyundai Motor North America (HMNA), and HAEA to ensure that IT initiative execution processes are standardized, business and IT roadmaps are developed/updated across HMNA, implement process improvements, and provide overall governance of HMNA regional IT strategy execution.

~ Success will require strong analytical skills, process improvement skills, relationship building with key business and technology stakeholders, and a good understanding of automotive OEM business processes and IT systems.

Major Responsibilities

~ Review business and IT Roadmaps for all HMNA business units.

~ Create monthly HMNA Business / IT Roadmap adherence report.

~ Provide overall governance of the Secured Stage Gate (SSG) process.

~ Create monthly SSG adherence report.

~ Perform governance function for new activities as identified by HMNA management.

~ Share best practices and processes across HMNA business units.

~ Help HMNA business units implement process improvements.

~ Research new and emerging technologies to develop HMNA’s point of view on these technologies.

~ Help with conducting the Proof of Concept (PoC) to validate viability of the technology for HMNA.

~ Assist with the Information Technology Steering Committee (ITSC) process as needed.

~ This position is expected to provide critical thinking to propose ideas or solutions that are in the best interest for the HMNA organization. Hiring, termination, approving timecards, and other Manager related duties are required for this position.

Education

Related Experience

~ Minimum 8 years’ experience as a Management Consultant / Business Analyst / Product Manager / Program Manager / Portfolio Manager in the sales and distribution space, preferably with an automotive OEM.

~ Minimum of 5 years’ experience in portfolio planning and management. Should be able to demonstrate working with the business to influence business roadmaps and define IT roadmaps. Should have experience performing financial analysis, creating, and managing IT budgets.

~ Strong business analysis skills and experience.

~ Familiarity with automotive OEM processes such as sales, marketing, planning, distribution, dealership, customer service, telematics, connected car, etc. Experience working with cloud, analytics, and AI is a plus.

~ Demonstrated experience in business process improvement using formal business modeling methods and tools.

~ Demonstrated experience creating and delivering effective presentations tailored to deliver appropriate messages to business and IT executives.
