Summary:
Understanding and knowledge of Children Services with clinical or practice knowledge regarding medical and b
behavioral health conditions. Good communication skills and ability to work with providers and State agencies regarding the various children’s populations of Serious Emotional Disturbance, Foster Care, Medically Fragile, Developmental Disabilities, and Substance Use and other chronic conditions. Understanding and knowledge of Medicaid and Medicaid services.
a. Assist the supervisor and staff in the Office of Health Insurance Programs (OHIP), Division of Program Development and Management in a broad range of planning, implementation, evaluation, and reporting activities.
b. Become knowledgeable and gain understanding of the Health Home Serving Children (HHSC) program and Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) Children’s Waiver to determine changes and or enhancements to the services and programs.
c. Research regulations and develop policies, procedures and guidance documents related to a wide range of subjects relevant to the development, implementation, and management of the children services, inclusive of developing power points and presenting training webinars.
d. Research and evaluate implementation strategies for the services. Present solution-focused information and ideas regarding program services to the team and supervisor.
e. Assist with implementing program projects and initiatives that address identified needs within the Children’s Services design.
f. Assist in evaluating and monitoring program compliance. Synthesize information and feedback to determine the need for new services or changes to current services.
g. Collaborate and work with staff, contractors, and state partners on projects regarding various program aspects of Children Services of the Health Homes and HCBS program as well as State Plan Services.
h. Assist with system enhancements by providing program knowledge and understanding for the CANS-NY, Capacity Management, Service Tracker, and MAPP HHTS.
i. Other activities as may be deemed necessary in response to the changing needs of OHIP.

Basic Qualifications:
- 9 years of experience in healthcare
- An associate degree can count as 2 years of experience, a bachelor’s degree can count as 4 years of experience, and a master’s degree can count as 5 years of experience
