Finance conducts the financial and accounting operations of Condé Nast. Areas of responsibility include preparing, collecting and interpreting financial information; preparing budgets, reports, forecasts and statutory returns; conducting financial analyses of proposals, investments and fund sources; managing Condé Nast's taxation affairs; managing cost accounting systems and cash flow; controlling treasury and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. This job family also includes positions responsible for accounting administration activities such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit, collections, billing and invoicing.
The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for the maintenance and development of financial and business KPI reporting across multiple Conde Nast brands globally. This position will support the Content Finance function. The Content Finance function is responsible for supporting Conde Nast Entertainment & Editorial to establish global content budgets and KPIs to drive performance & profitability of our brands through financial modeling and strategic thinking.
This role reports to a Director on the Brand and Content Finance team.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Develop dynamic and refreshable brand reporting packages to be presented in regular business status updates with editorial leadership teams
  • Support the Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis function by handling monthly accounting close processes and creating brand-specific financial models
  • Evaluate the brands’ current operating models on an on-going basis, recommending actionable strategies and tactics to editorial and brand leadership on how best to mitigate risk and capitalize on opportunities
  • Provide ad hoc analyses in support of business development opportunities, and internal investment requests, in an effort to unlock new revenue streams
  • Become a trusted resource of overall brand performance for all corporate stakeholders
  • Maintain a strong relationship with various revenue teams, including: Commercial, Licensing, eCommerce and Consumer/Paywall to gain insight into the brands’ top-line advertising revenue performance and opportunities, and the subsequent impact on the brands’ financial plans and forecasts.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
  • BA/BS degree in Business (Finance or Accounting preferred), Economics, Engineering or equivalent field
  • 4-6 years post-collegiate work experience in a quantitative field, preferably in corporate finance, consulting or public accounting
  • Robust knowledge of financial statements and corporate finance/accounting best practices
  • Ability to build financial models to inform strategic thinking
  • Hands-on experience supporting the P/(L) owner for a business unit in a large organization strongly desired
  • Excellent Excel and Google Sheets skills required; experience with business intelligence and financial planning tools desired; deep understanding of relational databases a plus
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to clearly communicate key insights and takeaways underpinned by sound analysis
  • Experience working with multiple departments/stakeholders to consolidate disparate information and turn it into streamlined reporting
  • Ability to empathize with various stakeholders in the process of gathering information and evaluating needs
  • Strong oral and written communication skills are essential
  • Base Salary Range : $70,000 - $90,000
